Richard Sharland MA MSc CEng MIOA
Director

Richard Sharland graduated in Engineering from Cambridge University in 1988. He has a Masters Degree in Environmental Acoustics from the University of the South Bank, he is a Chartered Engineer and he is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics. After a period as a Consultant with DCE Information Management Consultancy he joined Ian Sharland Limited in 1991, and is now Director of the Company. His work has been concerned with most aspects of environmental noise assessment and control, and the assessment of sound insulation through residential, commercial and industrial developments. He has also been engaged in numerous Planning Applications and Appeals where there has been a strong emphasis on the effects of environmental noise on residential developments. His personal experience in the design of such projects extends to the development of numerous hotels, hospitals, care homes and larger residential schemes.

Peter Ashford BSc(Eng) MIOA
Director

Peter Ashford graduated in Engineering Acoustics from Southampton University in 1986. He is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics. After periods as an Acoustic Consultant with Hann Tucker Associates and as a Senior Engineer with Acoustic Engineering Services Limited, he joined Ian Sharland Limited as an Associate in 1990, and he is now a Director of the company. His work covers all aspects of environmental noise and vibration assessment and control. Peter Ashford has particular expertise in the planning applications and appeals, and the mechanical design of engineering noise reduction systems.”

Eddie Oxborough MIOA
Senior Acoustic Consultant

Eddie Oxborough has worked in the field of engineering noise control for 20 years, providing design and manufacturing expertise to the practical solution of acoustic problems. He has a MSc in Environmental Acoustics, and is a full Member of the Institute of Acoustics. Alongside environmental noise assessments and his 3D computer modelling skills, Eddie is particularly experienced in the control of noise from mechanical systems, including the design of bespoke engineering solutions.
